Well, I guess I should introduce myself before I start ranting about things!! My name is Jessica a.k.a Ex City Mom! Yes, I used to live in Lincoln Park and moved to Oak Park in August 2007. I loved the city and still wonder sometimes if we made the right decision? I went to the city today for a playgroup and wanted to cry as soon as I saw John Place, this restaurant that we used to dine at atleast 2x a week! I immediately wanted to move back. I called my hubbie and told him we have to sell our house that we just finished doing major renovations on which nearly broke us and move back to the city! Well after I searched for parking for literally 10 mins I was starting not to hate the suburbs all that much! The city is fabulous but I'm starting to love all of the conveniences of the burbs while still being close enough to the city to enjoy all it has to offer!
My goal for this blog, is to make it more than just me ranting or raving about things! I'd like it to be your go to blog for all things mom in the city of Chicago! As for now, I'll just be blogging until I get things rolling w/my blog designer. Some of the things I'd like to do is have a monthly calendar of events that you can take your kids to whether it be in Chicago or Naperville. Also, I'll have reveiws of local salons, products, restaurants (namely if they're kid friendly or not). I will of course, have a blog section for us moms to blog in the community. I welcome any suggestions on anything else you'd like to see on the blog. I'm also working on a website that will tie into this blog that will allow us to have a place for moms to create moms groups and network for the city of Chicago.
